I was born and raised in Lithuania (1968) where I studied piano.
I started playing the piano since I was seven years of age, and with great success: I won the international piano competition for children Balys Dvarionas for children up to 18 years old, twice!
When I was 14 years old I left my parents' home and went to Kaunas to continue to study music. After four years studying at the famous "J. Gruodis High Music School" I went to the Music Academy in Vilnius. In 1993 I got my diploma with specializations as a piano teacher, accompanist and chamber musician.
Already during my last year at the conservatory, I started giving piano lessons to children. I found it really fun to do, to see how they grow up with music!
After my studies I was invited by my piano teacher to work as a piano teacher myself at the first private elementary school "Gama" in Lithuania with the art forms music, dance and drawing. I taught piano to children from 4 years of age!
In 1995 I came to the Netherlands.
I followed master classes for accompanists with Rudolf Jansen, Roger Vignoles, Thom Bollen and Hans Adolfsen.
I gave concerts with various vocalists and instrumentalists and worked as an répétiteur and orchestra pianist for opera and oratorio, including "Dido and Aneas" by Henry Purcell, "Suor Angelica" and "Turandot" by Giacomo Puccini.
Currently I perform a program of Lithuanian music with singer Rima Dirse-Zijp. Together we have released a CD.
Nowadays I have a thriving private piano studio in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid and workiing one day a week at the Amsterdam Music School, Department Bachstraat.
